Getting started
What is Rymeda?
Rymeda is a private-beta social health platform. It has three main parts. The Community is a space to talk about health with other people using a display name instead of your real name. Care Portal is your personal health hub, where you can keep track of medications, vitals, your Rymeda Medical Card, your care team, appointments, records, and insurance. ORIS is a health AI guide that explains things in plain language. Rymeda is a technology product. It is not a clinic, a pharmacy, an insurer, or an emergency service.
How do I get access during the beta?
Rymeda is currently invitation-only and is shared through Apple TestFlight, which is Apple's app for trying out apps before they are released to everyone. Once you are invited, you will receive an email with a link. Install the free TestFlight app from the App Store, open the invitation link, and tap to install Rymeda. From there you can create your account inside the app.
How do I create an account?
Open Rymeda after installing it, choose to sign up, and follow the steps. You will provide an email address, set a password, and confirm your email. You need to be at least 18 years old to use Rymeda. After your email is confirmed, the app will walk you through a short setup so the experience fits you.
Do I have to fill everything in at once?
No. Setup is designed to feel calm, not like a long form. You can add information to Care Portal whenever you are ready, and you can skip optional steps and come back later.
Your account & sign-in
How many accounts can I have?
One account per person. Creating extra, throwaway, or duplicate accounts is not allowed. If you run a provider or organization account, that account is verified and uses real names and credentials.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
On the sign-in screen, choose the option to reset your password. You will get an email with a link to set a new one. If the email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder, and make sure you are using the same email address you signed up with.
How do I keep my account safe?
Use a strong, unique password and do not share it. Rymeda also offers an in-app lock you can turn on, so the app asks for a PIN (or your device's Face ID or Touch ID) before showing your health information. If you ever think someone has gotten into your account, email security@rymeda.com right away.
How do I close my account?
You can close your account from within the app, or by emailing privacy@rymeda.com. Closing your account removes your access and starts the deletion process described in our Privacy Policy.
The Community & pseudonyms
What is a pseudonym, and why does Rymeda use them?
A pseudonym is a display name that is not your legal name. The Community supports pseudonymous participation so that it feels safer to talk about health. Other members see your display name, not your real name.
Is my real identity hidden from everyone?
Your real name is hidden from other members, but Rymeda still holds the real name and email tied to your account internally, as explained in the Privacy Policy. Pseudonymity is meant to protect your privacy in conversations, not to remove accountability. Impersonating another person, a provider, or Rymeda staff is not allowed.
What can and can't I post?
Share your experiences, ask questions, and support others. Do not post content that is harassing, hateful, unsafe, or that reveals someone else's private information without consent. Unless you are a verified provider acting within your scope, do not give specific clinical advice, diagnoses, or dosing instructions to a specific person. The full rules live in our Terms of Service.
How do I report a post or member?
Use the report option on the post or profile. We review reports we receive and act on those that violate our rules. We do not act on every report. For serious safety concerns you can also email trust@rymeda.com.
Care Portal & your health data
What is Care Portal for?
Care Portal is your personal health hub. You can keep your medications, vitals, your Rymeda Medical Card, your care team, appointments, health records, and insurance details in one place, so they are easy to find when you need them.
What is the Rymeda Medical Card?
The Rymeda Medical Card is a summary of key health information, such as conditions, allergies, medications, and emergency contacts, that you can carry in the app and show when it helps. You control what it contains.
Who can see my Care Portal information?
Your Care Portal is private to you. Information you keep there is not posted to the Community and is not used to target advertising. You decide what to add and what to share. See the Privacy Policy for the details on how your data is stored and protected.
Can I edit or remove what I've added?
Yes. You can update or delete items in Care Portal at any time from within the app.
ORIS
What is ORIS?
ORIS is Rymeda's health AI guide. It can explain health terms in plain language, help you organize questions to bring to a clinician, and point you toward general categories of information. ORIS responses are meant to be educational and easy to understand.
Can ORIS diagnose me or tell me what to take?
No. ORIS is not a doctor. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or provide medical care, and it is not a substitute for a licensed clinician. ORIS gives information only. Its answers can be incomplete or wrong, so do not make medical decisions based only on what ORIS tells you. Always talk to a qualified healthcare professional before acting on health information.
What should I do in an emergency?
ORIS is not an emergency service. If you may be having a medical emergency, contact your local emergency number immediately. For example, 911 in the US, 112 across the EU, 999 in the UK, or 000 in Australia. If you are in a mental health crisis in the United States, you can call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. If you are outside the US, you can find a local crisis line at findahelpline.com or befrienders.org.
Privacy & security
How does Rymeda protect my information?
Rymeda is built to keep your health information private. Community conversations use your display name, your Care Portal data is private to you, and Rymeda does not target advertising using your individual health data. The complete picture is in our Privacy Policy.
Does Rymeda sell my data?
No. Rymeda does not sell your personal health information. Any sponsored content uses topic context only, never your individual health data, as described in the Privacy Policy.
How do I exercise my privacy rights?
To access, correct, or delete your data, or to ask a privacy question, email privacy@rymeda.com.
Notifications
What notifications will I get?
Rymeda can send notifications about activity that matters to you, such as replies in the Community, messages, and reminders you set up. You stay in control of what you receive.
How do I change or turn off notifications?
Open the notification settings inside the Rymeda app to choose which notifications you want. You can also manage notifications at the device level in your phone's settings, where you can turn off Rymeda notifications entirely.
I'm not getting notifications. What should I check?
Make sure notifications are allowed for Rymeda in both the app's settings and your phone's system settings, and that your phone is connected to the internet. If they are still not arriving, reach out to support below.
