Rymeda, Inc. ("Rymeda", "we", "us") gives you control over your data. You can delete your account, and the personal information associated with it, either from inside the Rymeda mobile app or by emailing us. This page describes both paths and explains exactly what happens after you ask us to delete.
Delete from inside the app
The fastest way to delete your account is from within the Rymeda app:
- Open the Rymeda app and go to Settings.
- Open the Account section.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm that you want to delete your account when prompted.
Deleting your account is permanent. Once your account is deleted you will be signed out, and you will not be able to sign back in to the same account. If you want a copy of your data first, request an export by emailing privacy@rymeda.com before you delete.
Request deletion by email
If you cannot reach the in-app control, or you no longer have the app installed, you can request deletion by email. Send a message to privacy@rymeda.com from the email address on your account, with the subject line "Delete my account." We may ask you to verify that you own the account before we proceed, so that no one can delete your account without your permission.
What gets deleted
When your account deletion is processed, we remove the personal information tied to your account, including:
- Your account data, including your name, email address, and password hash.
- Your profile, including your display name, profile photo, bio, and interests.
- Your Care Portal data, including your Rymeda Medical Card, medications, vitals, care team, appointments, programs, records, emergency information, and insurance details that you entered.
- Your ORIS conversation history.
- Your private posts, direct messages, and other content tied to your account, removed from visible product surfaces.
- Your interaction and preference data tied to your account.
Community content you posted
Content you shared in the Rymeda Community is handled with care when you delete your account. Posts, comments, and replies tied to your account are removed from visible product surfaces and queued for permanent removal. Because the Rymeda Community is pseudonymous, your content is shown under your display name, not your real name, so removing your account also removes the link between that content and you.
In some cases, a copy of community content may be retained temporarily for the moderation, safety, and backup reasons described below, for example where the content is part of an active abuse or safety investigation. Where another member has quoted or replied to your content, their own content remains theirs, but your original content is removed.
What may be retained, and for how long
We aim to delete your personal information promptly, but a limited amount of data may be retained for a short period for legal, security, and operational reasons. This mirrors the retention windows in our Privacy Policy:
- Backups. Encrypted backups may still contain your data for a short time after deletion. Backups are rotated on a schedule and your data is purged from them as part of that rotation, generally within 90 days.
- Legal and compliance records. We may retain limited information where required by law, to resolve a dispute, or to enforce our agreements.
- Moderation and safety records. Records related to terms violations, safety incidents, and abuse investigations may be retained longer to protect the community and enforce our Terms.
- Security and server logs. Technical logs that may contain limited identifiers, such as an IP address at the time of a request, are typically retained for about 30 days.
- De-identified data. We may retain data that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to you. This data is not personal information and is not deleted.
Deletion timeline
When you delete your account in the app, your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out. Your personal information is then removed from active systems and queued for permanent deletion, which we complete within 90 days of a verified deletion request, except for the limited categories described in the section above. For email requests, the 90-day window begins once we have verified that you own the account.
