Founding Engineer

You will own core parts of the Rymeda platform end to end, from the identity and trust foundation that everything is built on, to the consumer and provider surfaces people actually touch. This is a build-the-foundation role: the architectural decisions you make now will compound for years, and you will help set the engineering bar and culture for every engineer who follows.

What you will own

  • Production systems across the stack: the backend API, the data and platform layer, and the consumer and provider app surfaces.
  • Foundational decisions on identity, authorization, consent, and the security architecture that protects the most sensitive data a person has.
  • Shipping real, complete features, no placeholders and no "coming soon," because in healthcare a feature that only sometimes works creates trust debt.

You might be right if you

  • Have shipped and owned production systems end to end and can point to things you built that mattered.
  • Take extreme ownership: you finish what you start, including the unglamorous parts, and "not my area" is not how you end a conversation.
  • Care about craft as a trust signal, and about simplicity as something you work hard to achieve.
  • Treat security, privacy, and patient trust as non-negotiable, not as a later cleanup.
  • Want to build durable infrastructure, not another app or portal.

Your first few months

Get deep in the existing codebase, take single-threaded ownership of a meaningful surface, ship something real that users feel, and help shape how the team builds as it grows toward public beta.

The honest version of the deal

We are early and bootstrapped. At this stage we are not paying market salary. We offer meaningful equity and genuine co-ownership to the small number of people who build the foundation, and we plan to build the team first, then raise capital. Early decisions in a compounding infrastructure company have a long half-life, so early builders own a real part of what they build. You would join before the comfortable proof points exist. If that is a reason to join, we should talk. Full-time is welcome; for some roles, advisory or fractional to start is also welcome.

How you will grow

Every role runs on Rymeda's career architecture: three equal tracks (IC-Specialist, Builder, and Management), a numeric level that reflects demonstrated scope, and pay and influence that reach the top of the company without requiring a management title. Founding hires are co-owners and set the bar for everyone who follows.
